I have dyed my hair for over 35 years myself, quite successfully. I have a bob hairstyle to my shoulder but want to know how to turn it to grey without having to cut it short? Any hairstylists know how I can do this?

While you are letting your hair grow out, get it touched up with demi-permanent hair color. It washes out in 16-18 shampoos. Eventually, you will have gray hair and no longer need to color it. Also, I saw a post about stripping your hair. I would not recommend doing that since gray hair is unpigmented and it will ruin your hair.

HAVE YOUR HAIR STRIPPED DOWN WHICH MEANS IT TAKES ALL THE DYES AWAY, U SHOULD NOT HAVE TO CUT IT! GOOD LUCK!

you could gradually go to a lighter brown everytime to go to color your hair. eventually the grey will blend in better.

You just have to let your grow out grey naturally, I do not think they make grey hair dye, I do know they have grey hair enhancers for when your hair is grey, to keep it looking nice, because sometimes, white,grey,silver hair can take on a yellowish cast.

If you want to go grey it just takes time, patients and a lot of time with some bad *** grey roots and colored ends. I have had so many clients that want to quit coloring there hair, but get frusterated and color there hair. There really is no good way in my opinion to color your hair grey, grey hair is unpigmented hair, so is blonde hair.... you can bleach ur hair out and get it colored grey, but matching your roots to your ends with grey would be extremely hard. Patients is the best way, might take you a couple years, if you don't want to cut your hair short.
