It's perfectly safe to dye your hair, before, during, or after pregnancy. However, the dye might actually cause your hair to fall out even more. Continue to take your pre-natal vitamins to help strengthen your hair and nails, especially after you have it colored.

As a new mother, you DESERVE to go have your hair done and to feel beautiful again, because you are.

There is no problem with coloring your hair. It doesn't go into your bloodstream - so no effect on your breastmilk.

Your hair will continue to fall out in mass amounts for up to a year after birth. It is your hormones trying to get back in balance.

3 Months after I had my son, my hair began falling out in CLUMPS... I seriously thought I was going bald, but my doc reassured me that it was completely normal. The hair loss continued for probably about a month and a half, and than stopped. My son is now 15 months old and all the hair i lost has grown back in....( although there was a bit of an awkward period while the new hairs sprouted and stuck straight up, unitl they were long enough to lie flat:) Ahh, the joys of motherhood that no one tells you about.... LOL
