My hairs Blonde and I have dyed it a different shade of blonde before but it went grey. If I dyed it brown do you think it would go brown?

make sure you pick a color that does not have ASH in it. Ash is green tones and espically on blonde hair, it will turn out grey or green ish. If your having problems, go to a salon to get it done before you end up totally messing up your ahir and end up needing corrective color. It would be cheaper the first time to go to your stylist.

If you are at age when grey hair comes, no matter what colour you dye it, the roots will grow grey

Sounds to me like you used a shade of Ash Blonde. It's evil in a bottle; have never seen it come out good on anyone.

Anyway, the way to remedy this is by dying over this with a really golden tone. If you want to dye your hair brown, make sure it is labelled "Warm" or "Golden" to counteract the ashiness.

If you want to hide the grey w/o having to dye your hair all the time. You should go with a light, creamy blond. The creamy color will make the grey less noticeable and make it blend in better. You will have to touch up your roots about every 4 to 6 weeks tho. Also, there is a major difference between dying your hair yourself and having it professionally done. Yes, price is one major difference but so is the quality of the product. At home dying procedures can fry your hair much easier. When you go to a salon, they use quality products when they dye your hair. Also, they have a better judgment as to how long the color should stay on your hair. When you buy an at home hair coloring system, they just tell you a recommended amount of time that you should have the product on your hair. Well everyone is different and some hair may take more or less time then what the instructions say.

Finally, don't dye your hair brown. It will just make they grey show up easier.
