Is it normal to have a few grey hairs in your teens?

I am 15 years old. I have dark brown hair, but unfortunetely I have a few grey hairs. Is this normal? Will I be prematuraly grey? My grandmother went grey in her twenties, and my father went salt and pepper in his thirties. But is it normal to have grey hairs at the young age of 15?

It's genetics. It's not stress. Get real.

Is it normal to have a few grey hairs in your teens?

yes, if it runs in your family or you are constantly stressed.

My brother is also 15 and has so many gray hairs that he has to dye his hair on a monthly basis! He started getting them when he was 12.

It could be due to genetics or you're just stressed out. Being that both of your parents grayed early, I'm guessing that it's genetics. There really isn't anything you can do about it.

Try not to stress out too much either so it doesn't contribute to it.

If it's a trend in your family history, then apparently it is normal, for you. It isn't really a bad thing unless you look at it that way. I'm sure there are lots of people who think it looks cool.

God bless.

of course it's normal. it justs means that you're thinking a lot. or you're stressing about something. it's perfectly fine but if you don't want people to see. then you could dye it

It seems that with your Grandmother greying in her twenties, you could be following in her footsteps. Since people primarily follow the female side of the family, this could be the case. Stress also has a hand in how you grey. A sudden trauma or car accident can also cause greying or in some cases, a patch of nonpigmented hair to form. If it is one or two hairs, pull them! More will not grow back! One follicle can only produce one hair, even if you rip it out!!!

yep i have had gray hair since 13....you should probably tell people they are actually silver. They come from your dad and your children might have them as well..

Yes its ok. It probably means that you have stress or you are eating too many unbalanced meals.

I won't say it's normal. But my mother talked of having grey hairs when she was only 13. And like you, she had dark brown hair. But she didn't really start greying until she was perhaps 50.

There is no way for me to predict if you will be prematurely grey: For an answer to that, you will have to look to your family history.

But I know a lot of people who actually look good in grey!
