It depends on the colorist working on that particular issue of X-Men. Some will make her shade a tad darker while others will make it brighter like fire.
I think we can all agree that Jean will always be a redhead.
I haven't seen a recent issue of X-Men, a comic which I have not read in about 13 years. Just too many characters to keep up with.
